Will the ST timer effects work if the AY8930 is on a cartridge?

07.08.2009 12:15  Lars Baumstark

gwEm - as soon as some people experiment with the new abilities of the ´30 I could make a ROMPort epxansion (this would be especially nice for those Falcon owners or people who don´t want to mod their STs). On the other hand I wouldn´t like to see too many different ways that have to be supported by new software. We´ll see what the remaining active Sceners want to have...
BTW: A quality sound output could be easily added to the PCB that will contain the compatibility switch logic. How about a stereo (L: A+1/2B, R: 1/2B+C) line-out as i.e. 3.5mm or Cinch?

stefan - those are really good recordings.

it seems clear that the AY is too much de-muffled compared to the YM by completely removing this capacitor. i think its pretty important to get as close as to the same as the stock sound for composing reasons.

lars - what do you think about my idea to make the AY on a separate expansion cartridge?

Also i have not modified the volume in those recordings, this is exactly how differnt they sound to each other.
